On November 20th Bad Religion played at the "Laughs for Bald Brian" funraiser. You can now download a new podcast from Adam Carolla's website. Among others, it also features three songs by Bad Religion: 21st Century Digital Boy, Infected and Sorrow.
Nothing new, but still REALLY good stuff. $1.99 for the podcast, but worth every penny.
Thanks to Kevin Styles for reporting this!
This time it's the "Haircut 100", featured in the newest issue of Alternative Press counting down a decade of the comtemporary punk/emo scene's best singles.
Voting was conducted by a panel of AP staff and contributing writers, music-industry professionals (including Punknews.org editors Aubin and Brian, as well as Pastepunk.com founder Jordan Baker), as well as band members from Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory and others.
Bad Religion's contributions to the list are Sorrow and Los Angeles is Burning, ranked 56 and 90, respectively.
Other bands with multiple singles on the list are Rise Against, Jimmy Eat World, Alkaline Trio, Brand New, Death Cab For Cutie, and Glassjaw.
You can see the entire list below; to see which 10 songs just didn't make the cut, click here and to see ballots of select voters, click here.

I would say, as a general rule, that lists like this should not be taken too seriously. They are going to be biased towards which bands/songs are popular. In a world of justice, maybe the commercial/poppy punk/emo bands would be far below BR who would maybe totally dominate half of the list. But these lists will undeniable be based mainly on popularity, not on quality. I guess the essential point of art is that you can't truly rank it.

is it normal for you to give out the answer for the main question
also.. thats not the official answer.. sorta a trick question.. we call it shell but its royal dutch shell.. for 100 alex!
and yes.. a book.. my first answer goes into why .. mr simplistic.. sometimes people are looking for the non standard answers.. as they will get thousands saying SHELL.. and only a few with passion stating why it is shell.. Hence why that org even exists. Passion.
and yes.. in usa.. go ahead and ask anyone you know in a poll.. see how many americans know what it is(not just by name)
its a sad ratio.. much like how many people know blood type .. again sad.
first off, only one person i know in RL other than myself even knows what this international org is.
Do you mean that there are people out there who don't know Amnesty International??
And why write a "book" if the answer to the first question is just one word (=Shell)?

im sure that list is only for that area.. NONE of those songs are popular here
in fact its not even the same music setup
here its all pure rap n rnb, you wont find this stuff on top charts anywhere.. esp now that KWOD is gone.. weep..
also ive asked many people (i know but.. I want to know how many people know)
what is amnesty and how vague of questions can you get.
first off, only one person i know in RL other than myself even knows what this international org is. Muchless the skaters, which change rapidly due to sponsorship.
I only knew of one skater for sure.. and when I checked he had left last year due to X or something..
long story short, how many are entering this contest. And how many know even what it is without googling.
personally I wrote a book and sent it to them for my first answer.. hope its right
(I dont even want the skate decks) just want to know if im right
Who wrote this list? 30h3!? How does this deserve to be on the list. Wait... and My Chemical Romance? Come on, these are terrible choices. And they chose BR songs like Sorrow and Los Angeles is Burning. They could have chosen much better ones.
In all fairness, they're counting singles here. Plus those two songs are easy picks for anyone with a superficial knowledge or interest in the band. Personally, I'd have put The Defense in there instead of Sorrow, but which one made a bigger splash? Objectively speaking, a "better" single does get more airplay.
Though on a side note, Muse? Cobra Starship? Fucking seriously?

I just don't like how a crappy local band got #1 place and BR doesn't even get a spot until #56.
And why are those two genres even blended together anyway?

I agree how does any Blink-182 song (especially "All The Small Things") get ranked higher than any BR song. I dont think 3OH3 counts as punk/emo either.
