Update - Brett mentioned on Twitter that Bad Religion is aiming for a fall release of the new record..... which, of course, shouldn't come as a surprise as the album will supposedly be recorded in May.
In a reply to a question raised in our forums by BrandonSideleau about when Bad Religion is expected to go into the studio, Jay had this to say:
"April 26th, 2010 is the date i have, so sometime around there. Just a few songs are written right now, it feels like the songwriting is picking up momentum. Baker said he was going to drive up to graffins, brooks and i are going to do some demos with brett, so we have a pretty good jump."
So, again, there you have it. Brian will start working on new material together with Greg (Graffin)... and Jay and Brooks will do some demos together with Brett. Sounds like the process hasn't changed since last time. Brooks (9/11/2006): "We basically always demo the tunes at Brett or Greg's place then the whole bands meets for some serious mind blowing energy."
The studio at which Bad Religion will be recording and with which producer is still unknown.
Extra tidbit - New Maps of Hell was recorded in March 2007 at Grand Master Studios in Los Angeles with producer Joe Baresi. On the band's 2006 DVD Live At The Palladium Brett hinted that New Maps of Hell would be a double-disc. Apparently 27 songs were conceived but only 15 (16 including 52 Seconds) made the final cut of the album. Source: http://www.thebrpage.net/news/?newsID=1279
Here's wepisode #1 of the many, many webisodes that were made during the recording of New Maps of Hell. Yes, that was sarcasm!

No problem. You might want to make that Twitter link direct to the specific Twitter entry, though. 'Cause in one year (even less, just months or weeks) it will be hard to find that quote.
Thanks for the info, Brett! So stoked!!! You know, I wouldn't mind if you looked forward to showing them to me too. :D

woaw! I have to wait more than a year for a new BR album. I think I'm buying that freezing machine from Futurama and only defrost myself once every 3 years.

I've got the rudiments of eight songs written and I'm feeling very good about them so far. Looking forward to showing them to the band.

Yes! I hope the new album is going to be as good as their older material (like Suffer, No Control).
Hey, that's the same video from the NMOH reissue with Greg pissing off Brooks!
Actually, that video was released way before the NMoH reissue (as a Webisode on epitaph.com, as Marty pointed out); it was indeed included later as an extra on that Deluxe edition, together with that awesome (albeit too short) video of their songwriting process explained by Brett and Greg.
Marty, I loved your sarcasm! I was ready to jump at you when I read "many, many webisodes" lol Everybody here knows how much I have complained about this, specially when I saw the gazillion of Rancid webisodes made in anticipation of their latest record... I don't know, maybe it's just Brett being more humble about his own band, as if he didn't feel comfortable giving them as much promotion as the other bands. For instance, comparing with Rancid again, Bad Religion never got the same treatment for a new release as Rancid got with that triple disc+other items monster that cost like two hundred bucks. Would love to see that for the new BR release!!!
