Even since Bad Religion started playing their new song "Resist-Stance" during the past House of Blues tour, numerous videos appeared on the internet. However, none of them were of such a quality that the lyrics could be made out.
Greg Graffin was kind enough to provide us with lyrics that are 100% correct.
Seeds of rebellion lay outside your front door
If you nourish them and water them they'll grow into a healthy what for?
And if revolution isn't what's in store
How can you care anymore?
It's a dangerous slip,
a conscientious shift
In the spirit of resistance you gotta hold your grip
Lest the state of your resolve makes you quickly devolve to a fundamentalist
You're an archetype,
that they can pin to the wall
As you cling to all convictions like a farm animal in its stall
Never thinking of the bigger world outside
As they take you for a ride
It's a dangerous slip,
a conscientious shift
In the spirit of resistance you gotta hold your grip
Because passion unabated will be readily conflated with belligerence
It's a dangerous slip,
a conscientious shift
The spirit of resistance you gotta hold your grip
And the verdict won't be kind 'cuz they're desperate for a viable alternative
Take a stance. The Resist stance.
Now start singing along!

It's a great song, and I'm very excited about the new record. However, to be perfectly honest, I must say that I think the lyrics are rather weak. I mean, I absolutely appreciate the message of this song, the lyrical content. I couldn't agree with that more. But the words themselves... I don't know. But I'm VERY relieved to hear that this song is NOT entitled "Resistance" (which would be the most "punk" title I could think of - and therefore the most un-Bad Religion title I could think of - that kind of unartistic crap I would expect from bands like Anti Flag or Pennywise!). I would have been more than disappointed had it been otherwise! Anyway, great song.

Fuckin'-A-right. Makes me want to take more of a resist stance - which is exactly what I want to hear from Bad Religion. I am kicking myself for not scheduling my CA trip last month a little better so I could've gone to one of the HOB shows. Autumn and an East Coast US tour seems so far away... and I'm struggling on the way, and I'm waiting for the day...

Yeah... I was nowhere close. I still like my video though... I'm usually up against the rail (for every concert I've ever seen BR), but I brought my girlfriend with me (who's pregnant) to the show on 04/03, so I got some good videos. Didn't think the pit was the best place for here...

Cool!
So does this pretty much mean that Greg regained interest in BR (fan) pages again? ;-)
