It appears that Japan is again getting its own special edition release of Bad Religion's new album The Dissent Of Man. Not only will it contain 1 additional track (Finite), but it will also be accompanied by a 30 Years Live bonus CD.
UPDATE:
It's not clear how many of this limited editions are (or were) available. Earlier, the site where the user "posthc" found it displayed the number of available copies left, but when it reached 0 that information disappeared. The album, however, can apparently still be ordered.

One extra song on the CD actually matters to me when i am in my car. It just makes the CD 4 minutes longer, making the listening experience even better! =D plus i'm too lazy to go out and buy a disc to burn 30 years live to, so i am pretty stoked about that too. |

His speaking Japanese was for the benefit of the viewer due to it being on JAPANESE TV. I don't speak Japanese but I'm guessing he was repeating what people were saying and possibly adding other bits of information. Noooooooooooooooooooooooob. |

Yea he looks like it. but why didn't he interview them in english? i don't get it. and the band really understand all that stuff in japanese he was saying. If not then that would be a waste of an interview. I was assuming that the only reason he was speaking in japanese was so that the horse guy and other viewers could understand. If they did understand the japanese, then it all makes total sense to me. |

I thought I heard the label pushed for 21st century and I did hear about the tensions and split (wasn't Brett 'testy' that Tested had so many Grafin songs and therefore royalties? - ouch, and looking it up, only 4 1/2 Brett songs); and it just seems odd that a song as good as News from the front doesn't get on over something else,

Didn't Jay mention that the 30 Years Live might become avaliable in some limited edition? Although this might be that... I'd really prefer to buy the CD when it get here... I think... Or maybe I should just order the japanese? Don't really have time to ponder about this... :D

Just read that according to Jay, Brett chose between Digital Boy and News From the Front. He went with Digital Boy.
Sounds crazy, but I guess at the time Digital Boy wasn't as well known as it is now despite being on ATG. |

I understand that the songs had to be 50/50 with respect to the songwriters, but regardless they could have dropped a different song! I don't care though as I'm Europe, but I've always wondered where Markovian Process and News would have fit in. Marcovian works well as an album finisher (I believed it was for ages), but News From the Front might be tricky to place.
Why doesn't the UK get cool releases? As a general rule we miss out on the cool stuff but still pay ridiculous prices. |

1) Japan and Europe tax music products at a much higher rate (Check the price, almost 3 times what the CD costs in the states) so labels often include additional material to drive sales. That said, this time, all the additional material is available for free to Americans (and in CD quality) so it isn't enough to get me to buy one, although a hard copy of 30 Years Live would be awesome. 2) Band relations were very strained during the STF time, and News from the Front was cut so that the album would have an even balance of Greg and Brett songs. |

To be fair, we (Europe) did have, News from the Front, Markovian Process, Punk Rock Song in German, The Fast Life. And we also had Tested, The Epic Years + the Deluxe edition of NMOH was released earlier in Europe. Guess it's not that bad after all :D

The song "Finite" is also included on The Dissent Of Man "Deluxe digital download". This edition also includes Live versions of Best For You, Pessimistic Lines, How Much Is Enough and Generator. And my guess is "Finite" will be released as a b-side to one of the singles of TDOM, like Surface of Me in LA Is Burning Single. That said it sucks that Japan always gets more than the rest, it's not like they are bigger fans, is it?
