Marcus Öhrn - front man in Amy's Ashes, Fame Factory participant (a derivative of the Swedish version of American Idiol), 5th Sonic Brigade front man (who also recorded a cover of God Song, relased about a year ago), singer for pop/punk band Noice (2004-2008) - is going to release a Bad Religion tribute album (yes a real CD!) and release it world wide.
The record will be called "The Bad Religion Syndrome" and will have songs from 10 famous, signed bands and 7 songs from unsigned bands or artists.
We can't go into any details about which bands are already participating, but Marcus needs your help finding the 7 unsigned bands or artists!
So if you want to participate in this project you can send your song to: badreligion@ohrnonline.se
Only send MP3s; You will be contacted for WAV-files if your song make it onto the CD.
By the way, this is not the same project as the one mentioned before.

I'm wondering what songs have already been recorded for the album. No sense in covering a song song one of the signed artists already has...

Hey Marcus, thanks for the big deadline! Just one more question: The cover have to be "rude, metal"? A cover with only piano and voice is also acceptable? I mean, a cover in that format has any chance to be on the record? Thanks.
No, about the music style you can do whatever! I will take all versions that sounds good. That metal thing is just that the famous bands that are participating are for the most of it metalbands... So bring on the acoustic ones, synthpop and everything you like.. would love to have some Lene Marlin-Emily-sounded versions too! :) 09/09/2010 at 17:08
well, I'm tired of BAD acoustic covers, but good covers are always fun to listen to. What Bad Religion covers usually miss is really good vocals. The johnny and Steven (don't know their names, sorry) Emily and paolaphila covers are pretty nice to listen to because they can sing pretty good and you can year that they put in some effort and practice before just hitting the record button on their camera. I also liked the 21st century digital girl cover from groove coverage, because it was pretty funny
EMILY ROCKS.. She makes me smile on the ones where shes singing while BR warms up.. You can see how awesome it is.. in just her smile.. :) 09/09/2010 at 09:06

So I'm the only one who's tired of these acoustic covers? It's not like they all suck but I would like hear fast covers once in a while. To me a hardcore/metal version of a BR song does it just as much justice as a whimpy piano/acoustic guitar cover, as long as it's well done. On the other hand I liked the ska-version of Skyscraper too, so it's not that everything needs to be ANGRYMOSHEVIL. 09/09/2010 at 04:38
Emily Davis is the only good BR cover person out there, that's a fact.
I know Emily and I both strongly disagree with that statement, and she'd probably be a bit embarrassed to read it. I think we'd probably both say that Jonny and Stephan do the best BR covers (by unsigned artists). I've personally heard some really legit covers, including a pretty decent folky cover of Walk Away by The Barbarous Ornaments. (2nd to last in the playlist) 09/09/2010 at 00:35

All I know is, it's bad enough that certain European BR fanatics are on youtube. I want every person with a halfway decent voice who can pick up a guitar to get on this. Emily Davis is the only good BR cover person out there, that's a fact.
Emily said she'd try to do it. Guess it's time to head back to the studio.
Neil, I strongly suggest you encourage this. Too much is at stake.

I'm hoping the Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and all those punk rockers like those I just mentioned. Anybody that is signed on the punk label Disney. 09/08/2010 at 17:24
