First of all, this is not "real" Bad Religion news. However, because it's still a damn funny read I still wanted to share it with everyone reading this page. Thanks to carlmarx for finding it!
Apparently, The Lawrence Arms co-frontman and bassplayer Brendan Kelly added a new post to his blog today in which he tells about who he's going to be for Halloween.
"Yeah, so Halloween. It’s gonna be great. You know who I’m gonna be? Greg Graffin. It would be such a great costume, don’t you think? Well, realistically it would be terrible because there’s no way to be both sexy and Greg Graffin at once and the costume shack doesn’t carry the costume, so uh, goodbye respect, but you get my point, right? No? Okay, let’s back up."

by his mannerisms I would say he thinks Graffin is bald and fat?
Yeah, I understood that part.
It was mainly that, over and over, and he called him a sellout.

"And did I mention that his weird dancing and gesturing has always been offputting, even when he was young and uh…more ‘punk,’ or at the very least ‘age/style appropriate’ looking. "
I always found Greg's weird dances/gestures to be the most entertaining part of the band's performance. I was just watching my Along the Way dvd the other night and it was fun/funny watching Greg make all his weird faces and just be a goofball.
Oh yeah, and what's the story about his missing boots? Never heard about that.

I'm a huge Lawrence Arms and Falcon fan. Just about anything this man touches turns to gold. I have to agree with what Muu said. I don't quite understand why a few of you are taking such offense to his comments. He's speaking about Greg from personal experiences. It's not like he's just going off some rumor or anything. I'd be disappointed too if I witnessed a guy I've loved since childhood acting like a diva. He clearly still respects the hell out of him (because, you know, he said it) but just views him differently than he did before his experiences with him. Makes Complete sense to me. And yes, Brandon, plenty of people take Brendan seriously. The Lawrence Arms aren't considered one of the premier punk bands around for nothing, and no it's not just their music, his lyrics are brilliant.
can you get more rollins than this?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gg8Qjb7FOgQ
Hah true, BUT at that stage they had performed for 16 years & we're already popular (didn't the guy call Greg a sellout after all?) so Graffin had already become more confident as a front man. A cool moment anyways!
I actually think Brendan Kelly captures something interesting by callin Graffin "an unlikely candidate for one of the most successful and therefore entitled front men in all of rock and roll", because it's true. Just look at old interviews and performances by Greg. He's shy, silent and doesn't say anything provocative. But sings like a god and writes awesome songs. His presence is so far away from other legendary front men of his time, like Biafra, Rollins or Morris. Of course he's become more confident and stuff after all these years, but he's still more like a confident professor than a confident rock star. Okay, at least he really is a professor, doesn't just look and act like one.
can you get more rollins than this?

Went to a Larry Arms show this year and ended up drinking with him. He was an asshole, but he was also funny as fuck. Didn't like him much as a person. I love his band though.

Hah I think that was a good story. I don't get why you guys go to defence mode the second someone has something that's not even that negative to say about Graffin. I think Kelly made more than clear that he respects Graffin and he never judged GG. Graffin has already made it clear that he doesn't hang around the venues/with other bands/fans/whatever that much. Yeah maybe calling him a diva because of that might be exaggerating but Kelly said he understands perfectly why a person might act like that after all these years.

I asked keith that very same question last friday in chicago at riot fest ...but he did not exactly give a straight forward answer. I think the answer is yes but i think it is very shaky to say the least. the CJ were set record an album last june and there were many differences between he and greg h about the songs. And because of that keith created his new band OFF! with his own songs. my guess is that was the last CJ show last friday in chicago but you never know.
that was a funny read. but is keith morris now still in circle jerks?
I didn't read it because he's a bassist and bassists aren't important.
Is this the same dude who came out and made moronic comments when the Daily Show did that hilarious attack on Michael Graves? He was nearly as inarticulate as Graves himself! I don't think Greg (or anyone) takes this guy seriously lol.
When you release an album called Buttsweat and Tears..and have been trying to name an album that phrase for 10+ years, you're not going to be taken completely seriously
He sure makes great music though and wrote a great liner note on the rerelease of Alk Trio's Goddamnit album 10/12/2010 at 13:41
