Earlier today Guilherme from Brazil sent us a link to a video interview, which he transferred from a VHS tape and posted on youtube. Apparently, it's an interview the band did in on 3/14/2001 on a local MTV show in Brazil called Uá Uá. This was the evening of the first Brazil show of the South American The New America tour.
Gotta love how the guys just sit there waiting for the host to finish translating a couple of times. But also how much Greg Graffin appears to be the spokesman for the band in this interview... something that we don't see too often anymore.
Note: The video clips that were played during the interview have been edited out.
Many thanks to Guilherme for taking the time to transfer the video from VHS, edit it, upload it and let us know about it. Much appreciated!

Dude!!! I remember watching that live!!! that tour was my first (of many) Bad Religion concerts, mostly in Curitiba, where i expect to see them again and celebrate the dissent of man and the 30 years of the band!
In fact, that was actually my first real concert, i was 14 years old at the time and had to say that i've forgotten my ID to get in... real nice! except for a friend of mine that tag along in that concert all the other kids in school thought we were crazy, they didn't like the crossbuster and thought that was just a sign of violence and being evil... If only tehy knew what is all about...

I guess "The Grand Delusion" might actually be a word play on this.
Or maybe Jay was really talking about The Grand Delusion, and it was really I Won't Say Anything playing in the background, and they just travelled back in time and what looks like a studio is in fact a space ship.
I guess we'll never know for sure...

I have to apologize for the quality of the video. It was recorded on a 20+ years old VCR, and for the past 4 years I believed this tape had been lost; luckily, I found it a couple of months ago and decided to do a transfer and upload it so the world could see it (I could never find this interview on the internet, no matter how hard I tried).
Audio had noise filtering applied and the video was edited to remove the clips and commercial breaks.
Thanks for publishing it, I'm sure BR fans will find it interesting. Enjoy!

Overall I think the interviewer is pretty cool and knows more shit than the japanese guy with the horse head friend. My eyes opened wide when i heard Jay answer "The Grand Delusion" when the interviewer asked him "What is your favorite BR album?" At first I thought he asked, "What is your favorite BR song?"
