"PUNK IS: the personal expression of uniqueness that comes from the experiences of growing up in touch with our human ability to reason and ask questions." -GG
He probably "huh"ed this quote because it contradicts the way HE grew up... in touch with his human ability to be illogical and fall in line. He is confused.
Being genuinely unique is impossible for any true christian - they are all "god"'s children, and must all follow "god"'s rules. (god is in quotes because I expect all of you rational people out there to replace it with "the guys who wrote the Bible")

It's quite true, and yet he answers it with this annoyingly condescending "Huh?"
Agree, also, he seems to have taken that quote directly from this start site, if the quote in itself, isn't stated on other pages, I wouldn't know. Anyway, I don't see anything to "huh" in that quote.
Otherwise, it was a pretty good article.

The author also quotes Greg's manifesto and lyrics off of Tiny Voices, trying to say that they don't make sense. Especially that quote from the Punk Manifesto. It's not that hard to understand. It's quite true, and yet he answers it with this annoyingly condescending "Huh?"

Really interesting read, made even more so interesting by the fact that it was an article written by a Christian magazine (and that the author neither condemned or trivialized Graffin's beliefs...or rather non-beliefs).

interesting...apart from the minor mistake about graffin writing digital boy, the author seems to know his BR pretty well. At the same time, I think his tone makes him sound like an elitist asshole. How dare he take a slam at so-called "community college geniuses?" He's obviously dismissing the punk movement/mindset with his biting but subtle comment about "bucking authority" while benefiting from free-speech and "capitalist created wealth." As if the mere existance of economic prosperity or civil rights means we should abandon skepticism and questioning. come on.

Yes, SS-3, I believe it was. I'd not be too hard on the author though, people make mistakes sometimes, and I can understand that.

Graffin's "Punk Manifesto"?his effort to define a movement that most of us associate with slam dancing and nose rings?is easily found on the Internet. It's also difficult to follow, perhaps because it's brilliant, perhaps because it's full of circular thinking and non sequiturs.
I like that bit. The person officially labelled themselves an idiot with that.
I have read "Punk Manifesto" and seriously, it's quite straight forward.

The article referred to Digital Boy being a Graffin song, wasn't it written by Gurewitz?
