Update (2/17/2013): Another video has shown up on Fuse. This time Greg, Jay, Brian and Brooks name their top 5 favorite contemporary punk rock bands: The Bronx, The Bouncing Souls, Against Me!, Refused and NOFX.
Greg, Jay, Brian and Brooks sat down with fuse for an exclusive interview. They kept it short and to the point (both videos are about 3:30 mins each) yet got to talk about many interesting topics in the BR world: what it means to be punk today (remember Greg's "Punk Manifesto" in issue #10 of Bad Times?); the 30th anniversary of Into the Unknown; use of teleprompters by singers; Frank Ocean's song Bad Religion and the "punk insurrection" it brought about on Twitter; True North's chart success; the meaning behind Robin Hood in Reverse (btw, you can also check out more interpretations here); having "Fuck You" as a song title; True North album art and their own interpretation of it; amongst other things...
But maybe most importantly for news junkies out there, it was revelead that the first (and judging by the last three albums, possibly only) video from the new album is going to be True North: so what do you think? Was that the song you were expecting? What would be a good theme for a True North video? Feel free to share your ideas! (please bear in mind the band is usually on a very limited budget when it comes to music videos).

really Bouncing Souls? They havent made a good record since Hopeless Romantic, and when I saw them with Bad Religion it was probably one of the most boring sets i've ever seen. I agree with Refused which is an awesome choice from Brooks, but can't get behind any of the other choices. Although to each their own, I remember that interview where Jay was shuffling through his favorite records at a record store some where, and said that the Gold record was his favorite, but to me the only good song off that record was the title track.

True North is, by far, the best song on the record. so its a good choice for a video
I wanted Dept. of False Hope to be the video. The only problem with that one is that the chorus comes too soon, like they're rushing things up. I feel they should have built it up a little more before exploding into the chorus. It is a great chorus and as such it deserves more "building up" to it.
We all know how Brett songs make you explode.

True North was definitely the right track for a music video. I hope they'll release more than just one seeing how well the album did on the charts, and since music videos can be a great way to expose the music to new people. Dept. Of False Hope and Hello Cruel World would be good. About the 26fpm i hope it's seconds, I don't want a slideshow ^^ Oh and let's hope it's in HD, not a big deal but still nicer than SD and usually gets more attention these days
Poor Brooks holding a mic but never got to say something. He's usually funny when he speaks. Speak Brooks!
Yep, last-minute rumor claims fuse.tv and Brooks couldn't come to an agreement (something about his exclusive deal with pitchfork.tv getting in the way), so they could film him but no words from him...

What is that Jay says about 26 frames per minute??? I don't know jack about filming theory, mind you, but does this mean it's going to be an extra slow motion video or what? Well, if that was the case at least it's gonna be different from the Atomic Garden/New Dark Ages standard video we were getting used to...
almost every film projects at 24 frames per SECOND. 26 frames per MINUTE would be a slideshow. with that in mind, i'm pretty sure Jay is just fucking with us.
I think the per minute was just a slip of the tongue.

why was none of the music in this video by bad religion? seems pretty obvious to me to set the background music (if you must use any) to the album that you're discussing. just seemed awkward with all that other music in there.

I think BR should just let the fans do a video. There are enough of us with video, music and animation skills to put something cool together. Just like that guy who did a video for Shattered Faith.
Feeder did it with Just A Day (ok it was a bit off the wall, but it worked).
