Bad Religion recording next album and American Lesion details
Bad Religion are currently recording their next album which is due out February or March of '98. No title has been decided for this album at this time. In order to take a break from recording, Bad Religion played three small club shows in New York City: September 26th at Coney Island High, September 27th at the Wetlands and September 28th at CBGB's. Two songs that will be on this new album, Hippie Killers and Sewing the Seeds of Utopia, were played at these shows. During the shows, Greg spoke about how the band loves to play small intimate venues like these and wish they could do it more often.
Greg Graffin's solo project American Lesion is to be officially released November 11th according to Atlantic Records. On Election Day, November 4th, Greg had his debut performance in the Knitting Factory in New York City. The show was a complete success! I was fortunate enough to experience it. During the show, Greg played 7 of the 10 songs on American Lesion. The songs that he did not play were Maybe She Will, The Elements, and In the Mirror. Along with telling a few stories, Greg also played acoustic and piano versions of some Bad Religion Material. The Bad Religion songs that he played were Cease (which is also on American Lesion), Punk Rock Song, Struck a Nerve, Get Off and God Song. Greg said that American Lesion is an insight into his writing process. --Joe
