Update (10/21): Amazon now has a preview of each song including, of course, Bad Religion's take on Let It Slide. Check them out here!
Update: Fat Wreck Chords has now detailed the tracklist for the album: "The Songs of Tony Sly: A Tribute" will come out on October 31, 2013 available on double LP, CD & digital. All formats are to include a download with bonus tracks.
Bad Religion has recorded the song Let It Slide, off of No Use For A Name's fifth record More Betterness! from 1999. In case you are not familiar with that song, here's a live version performed by NUFAN in Japan a few years ago. Thanks to HomerSapien, Banjo and lamedfab for the heads-up!

Fat Mike has revealed that Bad Religion is one of about thirty bands/artists that will be paying tribute to Tony Sly on a compilation album that will come out under his label Fat Wreck Chords in a few months.
No Use for a Name's frontman unexpectedly died in his sleep at age 41 last year and is survived by his wife and two daughters. You can read more about his life here.
It is yet unknown which song the band will contribute or whether it will be a Tony Sly or a No Use for a Name song, but these are some of the bands confirmed to appear on the tribute album besides Bad Religion: Lagwagon, Dropkick Murphys, Rise Against, NOFX, Frank Turner, Pennywise, Gaslight Anthem, and Bouncing Souls.
This is what Fat Mike has to say about the whole thing:
"I’ve been putting together this tribute comp for some time. It’s incredible how many bands have called me wanting to be on it. It’s been my absolute privilege to put this together. What I wanted to show on this record is how amazing Tony’s songs are.You can tell a song is great when it can be done in any style and it’s still great. That’s what this comp is about. All the bands are doing No Use for a Name songs or Tony Sly songs with their own take. It’s a real tribute to his songwriting.
I wanted to make a comp that Tony would be so proud of. These bands were his closest friends and his favorite bands. I thank all of them for stepping up and showing their love and respect to Tony and his family. It’ll come out in a few months and we’re gonna have a fucking crazy party when it does. You’re all invited to do the same."

I am not familar enough with No Use for a Name or Tony Sly's stuff but for those who are, which song/s do you think would fit in best with Bad Religion's style?
Trivia: last time Bad Religion participated in a tribute album was with their cover of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" for the Bob Dylan tribute album Chimes of Freedom two years ago.
And speaking about covers, the latest cover of a Bad Religion song to appear on a (digital) album is Suffer by Senses Fail. Apparently, it is featured on a three song digital EP that was recorded exclusively for the pre-sale of tickets for their last tour. Has anyone heard that one yet???

I just wanted to hear the BR song before moving on to other selections so someone put it up finally. Such a different style from BR but I've been enjoying seeing and hearing BR try different things lately ie the bob dylan song and christmas songs. I hope they are enjoying the creative diversions!

Graffin hitting some high (for him) notes. Good song for BR.
Wow, i really miss the Zman in Pennywise. yuck.
Strung out doing Soulmate is an absolutley perfect choice.
Man, I loved No Use, RIP.
who in the hell decided a hawianny version of a song about spousal/gf abuse was a good choice?
BR coulda done '51 Days' too...
Would have been great, not sure David Koresch songs really mean much about a man's life or 2013, though.
Anyway, it's a great song, I'm sure BR will do it well. This should be a good record. Loved me some No Use. RIP.

Here's some more info about this.
It seems Fat Mike actually helped BR with their song choice. Jay about their contribution, on Twitter July 9th: "@FatMike_of_NOFX really glad you like the way it turned out... it was a great choice by the way. thanks mike"
Fat Mike phone interview transcript from Complete Control Radio tribute show to Tony, August 4th: "I just didn't think Bad Religion would do it because they don't do covers, you know? I've never heard them do a cover of another band before. And so I called up Jay... And Jay Bentley and Brian Baker, you know, they loved Tony... and they were like 'We're doing it. We'll get Graffin to do it. We don't know how we're gonna do it, but we're gonna get Graffin on board.' And so, when their song finally came, that was, you know, super rewarding for me."

So looking forward to this!! Tony has always been one of my favorite writers, and it hit hard when he passed away. The Scorpios tribute tour was awesome as a tribute, but I'm even more interested for this - very cool to hear other bands' takes on his songs.
Also, not surprised that Face to Face is not on it despite the rumours, considering that Matt Riddle (bassist from No Use For a Name) joined after being kicked out of Face to Face by the vocalist Trever.

That's just incredible. I would never have thought BR would ever do a No use song. They follow so different stylistic paradigms. In fact, I can't even imagine how that would sound. An absolutely fascinating idea.
