Brooks Wackerman has been voted as "best punk drummer" of 2014 by the readers of DRUM! and DRUMmagazine.com! This is his first time winning the Drummies Readers' Choice Awards. Drummers that were nominated as well include Tré Cool (Greenday), Brandon Barnes (Rise Against) and Marky Ramone (Ramones).
Even though this is the first time winning the award Brooks had been nominated several times before and even made it to the top 5 every year since 2008. He ended up 2nd place in 2012 & 2013, 3rd place in 2008, 4th place in 2009 & 2010, and 5th place in 2011. In 2008 he was also nominated in the category "best alternative drummer."
