punk rock song is a good ass BR song and it's adequate for an "encore". i wish they could play other songs from their previous albums like "shades of truth" from no substance and more stuff from the grey race which i like very much: them and us, a walk, drunk sincerety, 10 in 2010, pity the dead. their new songs are all right though. can't wait to see them here in the states later in the year

hippykiller: they never did. except for one year (1997 or something) when they did warped over here, and "die toten hosen" were headlining band. campino, lead singer of that band, came up on stage and they kinda did the song together. but by now, greg g. says he has long forgotten the german words.
about the other discussion here: i think it?s fucked up that they do encores now. it was kinda arrogant not to, but if the fans knew, they respected it, and i perfectly understand not doing it (because of the rock star shit). i always found it kind of cool.
i always hate it when you read or hear about acts who have certain songs on their setlist, but "save" 3 or 4 for the encore. i think it should be more of a reward, you know, your set is over, and IF you rocked the crowd, they?ll let you know and they?ll not let you leave. it?s SO arrogant to "plan" some songs for the encore from the start. understand me?
nevertheless, i can?t wait for essen. but first: nofx, saturday. WHOO HOO

They've always done "encores", just not in the typical way. As of relatively recently they don't even walk off stage... they just turn the lights out for a few seconds & then do the encore. Greg said it's too "rock star like" to walk off & come back, but he understands why encores are needed. People like to know when the show is ending I guess... at least I do.

Apparantly they do, they've done it on all shows on this tour. I think it's good, gives some great songs last.
