The Empire Strikes First is out already!
"I just picked it up not to long ago from a local record store in New Jersey USA" says the BR page visiotr Hunter.
Tom Carmony reports the following:
Target in the Bridgepointe Shopping Center in San Mateo, California (20 miles south of San Francisco) has the Empire Strikes First already out on the shelves for purchase. I happened to be there this afternoon (Thursday, June 3) running some errands when I noticed in on the shelf in the music section. I'm guessing the CDs shipped from the distributor early and some employee stuck it out there, regardless of the release date. They have about 5-6 copies in the bin ($11.99 each).
I know there had been some rumors about a possible bonus DVD; I'm not sure if that may be available only at select retailers (or not at all), but this particular version only included the single CD.
Interestingly, they list a number of additional musicians for various tracks; in addition to Safe Francis' rap on Let Them Eat War, there's a credit for violin on Athiest Piece, Hammond Organ on Los Angeles is Burning, goth choir soprano for Sinister Rouge, and "programming" (not listed for a specific track).

the tv in the middle of the booklet says TWO MINUTES OF HATE. This comes from the book 1984 bu George Orwell. I suggest you all read it, describes where society is going.

If your a real fan than why would your rip off the artist by downloading there music instead of supporting the band and buying it assholes.

It was released early here too, thankfully.
But as a real fan I downloaded what I could before it came out to get a listen, then brought the actual album. |

doesn't everybody know by now that greg and brett decided upon resigning with epitaph that they would each be paid equally for writing, but in doing that they also agreed to not list who wrote what. Its in the contract.

trust me, the booklet is really great. at least that! kinda makes you forget about that "bonus dvd"
 everything?s readable (the lyrics are written in the same font as the "BAD RELIGION" logo writing). a couple of quotes are accounted for (from The Quickening and Boot stamping on...). there?s a very cool new band photo (small though). NO specific info is given about the writing of the songs, except co-writers for some. on the last page of the booklet (the one you see when you open the cd case), it?s completely black with "IT?S TIME TO TURN THE TIDE" in small red letters in the middle. classic. (and printed on the new tour shirts) |

I hope it's NOT as the PoB booklet. That one was hopeless... Are the lyrics readable this time, and does it state who wrote what?
I've preordered, probably get it on Monday. Bersuit: your comments are stupid. If you are a real fan, you might not support the band, but in any case you want the album in full quality, and not the crappy version of Overture, some songs ending into the next one, and overall advance release crappiness. |

I got the cd today for ?9 which pleased me, 2 days early and cheaper than everywhere else. I like the priest caricture next to the sinister rouge lyrics, very apt

raftak: the booklet is really great. a lot of black, red, white; the cd itself looks great too. i?ll try to send pics to kristoffer when i get to somebody with a scanner.
about the other discussion here: i had the album as soon as it was available on the web, but it was always clear to me that i?d buy it as soon as it was out - which i did today. |

For anyone that already got the copy, does the booklet is as great as the one of POB? Do they list the writing credits?

...if u're a real fan of the band u've downloaded the whole album ages ago... the only song that's missing is the bonus "the surface of me"... which is gonna be available very soon (courtesy of our Japanese hommies)... and no, I ain't buying the cd... I'll make sure I'll thank Greg personally for the great music during the Warped Tour... then again he's a misanthropic person... I'll try though...
And yes, Brazil fucked with Argentina wich is sad but we'll beat Paraguay next Sunday... |

Programming by atticus ross from Error and DILINGER escape plan. On quickening theres an additional guitar by the guy from Hot Water Music, but theres a full credit list on epitaph.com at band details or whatever. (synth is used on social suicide -high pitch noise , and on electric dreams)
