I haven't immersed myself in Rise Against music by any means, but what I've heard has been excellent and DEFINITELY catchy, and the songs aren't really that long. Certainly not comparable to Pink Floyd length.
It's well-written, Watcho, and the funny stuff is funny, but be careful not to just randomly bash anyone and everyone that isn't Bad Religion. For example, what's wrong with Fat Wreck? There ain't a damn thing wrong with good, catchy pop-punk. The problem is when it becomes punk-pop, like Simple Plan and Good Charlotte. But Fat Wreck bears no responsibility for punk-pop.
Oh, and badboy doesn't "assume" you don't know what you're talking about...he just asserts it. Whether or not you are actually aware of Rise Against and their music, he does not believe that you possess the adequate knowledge of Rise Against and its subgenre of punk music to intelligently critique them. And that's his opinion.

I love that badboy presumes I don't know what I'm talking about as far as RiseAgainst is concerned. Maybe to you they're the Beatles and the Clash all rolled into one band, and if so, great. The band I saw and the 10 songs I heard weren't anything special. Don't take it personlly.

Rise against seems okay, however, Affront is much fucking better [Tis a shame they are no longer a band as of this recent october]. I can't wait till they come down to D.C., I keep getting pestered bout rise being good.
Odd you say brooks looked left out, the last show at the nation in d.c. i saw them at they were very together as a band. By the way,I'm sick of no substance being bashed, it seems like a trend now lol. I'd understand the new america [todd rundgren..ugh].
:pets into the unknown purchased vinyl, awaits to pet his autographed copy of greg's dissertation...:

"If you knew how to write a catchy tune, you wouldn't have to put movements into your punk suites to make them work live."
they made some of the catchiest albums in the last years, so really, you dont know what you are talking about.

watcho tries to be funny, but that doesnt work always. and the stuff he said about rise against is pretty much crap. it seems to be in fash?on to bash fat wreck and ex fat wreck bands, never understood it.

Most "encores" are planned, it's just that BR usually doesn't bother walking off the stage and then coming back out, which is what they did.

Yeah i must say it sounds like a pretty decent show, encore? whew..who would have thought. Also, yes i must agree no substance is not that bad, at first i really didn't dig it, however many years later ( which would be now ) i have grown to love it, songs such as shades of truth, raise your voice, etc. Too bad i won't be catching bad religion on this tour since there is not a miami date, and i dont have money to go to orlando. I'll have to settle for the upcoming bad religion dvd...if there is one soon...

Highlights included Jay officially supporting Houston baseball ("...and fuck St. Louis") and Graffin responding "no one cares about the Houston Astros basketball team," which caused one audience member to shout "they're better than 'No Substance.'""
Haha, that's great!
Although No Substance wasn't really that bad.

Watcho is a bit insane to think Rise Against are boring and their songs are too long. They put more emotion into shows than any other band ive ever seen, and their message is amazing.
