I received mine last week (signed as well, yay!) and I'm really enjoying it. I was afraid it would be too dense and vocabulary rich, but I think Greg's writing style gets his point across well to a general public. As far as the missing parts of sentences and whatnot, that was most likely a printer's error. My mother has worked in journalism and publication for many years, and she informed me that printing companies often make mistakes of the sort.

Here's what Greg told me in June after I emailed him about the project. I think it implies he's working on another book, since he said "hopefully next year." This one is his PhD thesis, which explains why it hasn't been copy-edited. His actual book probably wont have errors.
Dear Timothy,
Thanks for checking out the project. I haven't yet
published the results, I have been very busy with BR
and that has postponed my academic writing. I welcome
you and your students to answer the questionnaire. As
you know, it was sent only to the most highly regarded
evolutionary biologists, so it would be interesting to
get a poll of students as well. I am convinced,
however, that most students have not thought hard
about reconciling their scientific world-view with
their religious world view. Even the greatest
scientists have spent far too little time on this
exercise.
Sincerely,
Greg Graffin
PS. I am writing a book on this subject that,
hopefully, will be finished sometime next year.

yeah, there are definitely errors... i don't blame him at all though.. nobody's doubting his intelligence. greg is clearly a very bright guy. there's a chance that the spelling errors came when it was printed... it might've been scanned with OCR or something and got screwed up there. And the errors I saw weren't in the topic itself, but grammarical errors and whole parts of sentences left out. and who's to say that the version he turned in was "error-free"... its the information that matters, not the spelling.. remember, einstein sucked at math, so all geniuses have weak spots..maybe "the graf" just can't type worth a shit. who knows..

I got mine a week or so ago, managed to get a signed copy too [finally, living on the east coast was good for something]. It does look very unoffical and very do-it-yourself, but i think it suits the book very well. It would be nice to have a nice hardcover with a pic of greg graffin on the front or something, since so far the book is extremly interesting. I'm a regular reader of philosphy however, so others who arent may have a tough time reading it. I can safley say after reading this book at least three times, I can decide what my religion/beilief system offically is, the naturalist view makes a lot of sense. [The study itself though is very important, I'm surprised i havent seen any articles on it in science magainzes...]
Oh, bytw, Im bringing this book in to quote it for a small assignment Im doing . Be great if i was the first : ]

I got mine. I haven't noticed any errors yet, but that doesn't necessarily mean there aren't any. therightclique, are you sure about these errors? I mean, theoretically shouldn't it be exactly the same as the version he submitted for his PhD? (Which obviously would have had to be error-free)

i've already noticed quite a number of not only spelling errors but sentences and things that flat out don't make sense.. like he was in a hurry when he typed them. I don't think this book has seen a professional editor. looks like greg is completely releasing this himself. there's a part in one of the interviews in the back where the guy asks greg a question and either he completely ignored or there's something missing.
