"It was a dark and stormy night", but I had to be there. Left work 2 hours after the gates were open and I was worried cause the place could be packed by the time I could get there. Surprinsingly it was quite empty, at least I thought so. WHen there?s heavy rain in S?o Paulo it?s kinda hard to get anywhere, there are endless traffic jams. Well, I was there at bout 8 in the evening and the concert was scheduled for 9. There was a band that had won a contest and then the appearance of Dead Fish, which is now probably the most famous brazilian punk rock band, and Pennywise. When the old boys stepped onto the stage the crowd went nuts. They played lots of old stuff. But, personally, Im not too much into them. What I really wanted to see was Greg and the boys showing what music is about! The pause between sets was too long and the crowd was getting a bit impatient. At last by one in the morning - Bad Religion!

Damn! I was so fucking tired, exhausted actually, but when I saw Greg wearing those glasses and Jay having a hard time to keep walkin but still making the place rumble, I told my body to forget anything and just enjoy. Set list - what I can remember now -

Overture, Sinister Rouge, SOcial Suicide, All there is, Los Angeles is Burning, Let Them Eat War (with jay rapping a bit) and God?s Love, most of the crowd didnt know the new songs very well and we were very tired but there was still a lot of movement and interest. Los Angeles is Burning, Come Join Us (fucking awesome!), Supersonic, Kyoto Now, Sorrow, Recipe for hate, American Jesus (the last one) and Man with a Mission, Stranger Than Fiction, Infected -great crowd participation - 21 century, Generator, Modern Man, No control, I Want to Conquer the World, You, Change of Ideas, Suffer, Do What You Want, Fuck Armaggedon, Along the Way

The curious moments - the guitar player from Pennywise pushing Jay since he seemed actually pretty drunk. At first I thought it was not that much, but he had a hard time playng the songs and in many moments he didnt seem to know which song he was playing. Greg said a few sentences in Portuguese and apologized for not coming in a while and promised to come back soon. Hetson with his guitar out of tune in ALong the Way, Brian had to do the intro solo. Greg pretending to end the concert after a few songs, and the classic Bush OUT! And my favorite moment - Jay saying right after the show these beautiful words - "I love you all. Fuck George W Bush". Fantastic Concert, it is hard to accept that they will probably take another 2 or 3 years to come round here again, Damn it!
