I think when Nirvana's Nevermind came out, someone (don't remember if the company or Cobain) wanted In Bloom to be the 1st single instead of Smells like Teen Spirit.
What a great WHAT IF? story that would make. I mean, History of Rock could be much different now, or not.

Wasn't Sorrow made available for download much earlier than any singles were released? You might be thinking of Broken and The Defense. They made a video for Broken but The Defense recieved much more airplay.

Well the video for 21st Century Digital Boy had Brett in it, and Infected had Brian Baker in it so I'm assuming 21st came out first.

The first single may have been "21st century digital boy" - I remember that getting a lot of video play on Mtv. If "Infected" was in fact the first single, it probably wasn't the first choice. KROQ probably played and it just became so popular. I remember reading the same thing happened with "Sorrow" a few years ago. BR was talking about "The Defense" or another song as the first single, but Sorrow just became so popular because of radio play.
