Unfortunately, even with the very high youth turnout, the polls still went to a fundamentalist asshole. While I agree that our generation will be a bit more open-minded, I can't trust in us enough, and I don't see enough of a reason to.

Meh, I wouldn't accept those figures as truth. It's just like what happened in the recent (tragic) election here...The polls were always off because the only people being polled were those who could be reached at home. Cell phones weren't called...effectively leaving out everyone below the age of 25. I think (hope, at least) my generation here in this country will be a little more opened minded then previous ones...

hmmm...by the way when we are talkin about scientists. i was at a lecture by Frank Wilczek who got the nobel physics price this year. i have been at the uni for 2.5 years and i didn't understand a shit of what he was talkin about
