Abou News from the front. I think Sony is happy that they can make $30,- from selling that song. Remastering newer albums would be totally cool. Like there is this band in Holland who wanted to be famous in Germany and they took the best songs from two different albums and put them on one. Bad Religion should do that with No Substance and the New America :)
Oh and most of the "punks" I know, don't like Bad REligion that much. I know this guy who gave me the Gray Race, and the only other album he liked was TESF. In my area punks are stupid. They don't think, they listen to goth music, and that's axcactly the target group, punk o rama cd's are made for...

By the way, I forgot to say in my profane post, I absolutely love the song News From The Front, it is one of the most emotionally provacative songs I think BR has written because it is about the AIDS epidemic. I have actually wanted to cry while singing along with that song sometimes.

because you idiot, people who buy punk o rama aren't necessarily into bad religion. in fact, most people who like punk rock only have one or two bad religion records and haven't heard the b-sides, like us. we are not the target demographic you moron. just like epitaph went through the trouble of remastering the old albums, they now have enough money to buy "news from the front" from sony. don't be suprised if we get the epitaph reissues of recipe for hate-the new america one day. try thinking outside the box. brett is not making punkorama records for us, so stop fussing. fucking morons...

Well but if they didnt re-record it, what's the point of paying Sony so that Epitaph can re-release a song everybody who's into BR has heard already anyway and that would only "trick" people new to the band into buying a Sony album? Any way, I'd prefer a NEW song, but who wouldn't...

yeah it must be a "re-recorded version" because you know epitaph is still a struggling underground indie label that can't afford to buy the rights to the song from sony....idiots. its the same version probably guys. don't forget how rich epitaph is now. its just a re-release.
and also, burt from canada: bad religion did not leave epitaph in quite the same way the offspring did. in fact, as brett said, it took him a long time to get over it, because he took it so hard. the offspring are a bunch of fucking losers, and thats why they only play stuff from the old albums live...they know that the new stuff has no integrity and that it is lame. its all just filler music to fulfill their contract. so wise up you morons.

I dont think they rerecorded it. They 've just made a deal with Atlantic, who arent interested in BR anymore anyway.
Ok it would be very cool to hear a rerecorded version. For me they could rerecord every Album till 1994

Releasing News from the front in the USA is a good example that the music of bad religion is so much the same every album that a lot of "punks" who buy punk o rama won't even notice this is an old song. It's a pity Bad Religion is making the same music for 12 years or so. If the beatles would include "Love me do 1962" on "Sgt Pepper;s1967" people WOULD notice. But playing 21st century and TESF, not much difference

there are a lot of people that do comedy a lot better than bad religion. i've only seen bad religion around 5 times and while they were marginally funny from time to time, I wouldn't say they're great comedians. I wouldn't expect them to be.

In case you're talking bout the Offspring, the oldest songs they play live nowadays are from Smash. Most of the songs they played when I saw them last year (blabla sellout blabla) were from Smash, Americana and Splinter. Nothing off of S/T or Ignition.
And yeah, it sucks that the "unreleased song" in fact has been released 11 years ago.

What a ridiculous comment. Are Offspring traitors because they left Epitaph and now are having connections with them again? That sounds familiar... Where have I heard of a band doing that with Epitaph before?

i couldn?t even imagaine stranger than fiction without that song. strange that it wasn?t on the normal release in the first place. i always saw it as one of the better songs on that record, and i only learned it was "exclusive" about a year ago.

Well, it's unreleased because it's a new "unreleased" version of the song. For Example, the 21st Century (Digital Boy) off of Stranger Than Fiction was different than the Against The Grain Version (although not as good).
