ive seen Bad Religion in Washington DC 3 times, and each time the tickets were roughly $20 (one time was warped tour 2002) and all the shows were amazing, but you do have to realize, that VENUES set the ticket price for shows because they want to make a profit, the band has nothing to do with ticket prices on tours.... oh and did i mention that Bad Religion is the greatest band ever.... http://www.drawnablank.com

Stop complaining, in Southern California we pay twenty-five$ a ticket plus three to four dollars for a surcharge to the ticket agency, and the opening band SUCKS. Just be happy with seeing the band. I dont mean to be a wet sponge about the price$ but your not the only one paying that much, your friend from CA. Doug

Jillen, did you ever consider that it isn't the band themselves that set the price for the tickets? It has nothing to do with their "punkness". It all comes down to the venue they're playing at and who schedules them to play there. It's not as though Greg, Brett, Jay, Greg, Brian and Brooks all sat down and decided that the ticket price was going to be outrageous. And 24 dollars in American money to see BR? Expensive, yes. But that's not a POP show. That'd be like 50 + dollars.

Well, okay. it's not that i don't have enough money or anything. i think it's not fair. look, what's with NOFX,No use for a name, lag wagon, good riddance, millencolin or anybody else. you do not understand what i mean. i love Bad Religion for 10 years, but i cannot undestand this. 50 pounds??? oh fuck. don't you think about britney spears...who is bad religon? oh man, sometimes i think the're kidding me. in 2002 a ticket was 18 euro. and now? actually every 3 weeks i am visiting bands and NEVER below 15 euro. the punks here excite over something like that. to me it seems, that BR is not a punk band in this regard. don't forget, i love them, their music, their lyrics. i don't say that, because of antipathy. no, then on the other hand i'd pay everything going to one concert. and i am happy that they are coming to germany at all.

To put things in perspective:
In 2002, Bad Religion DID NOT come through Denmark (and are not scheduled to do so this time). I paid to go to London (roughly 350 US dollars) AND had to pay 40 pounds (roughly 50 US dollars) to get in to the show. And the American girl that I met at the show no showed for the date the next day... So stop whining!
And if anyone knows Alexandra Bursac from New York, have her write me. So there...

What does the price of a ticket have to do with this news?

I am in no way an expert about the subject but I don't think Bad Religion makes much money from the record sale, so the only way they are able to tour around Europe is to charge a good amount of cash for a ticket. That or huge shows like Rock Am Ring.
