Don't worry about it. They're only referring to tabs that are published in books and then posted for free on the internet. Any tablature that people do privately in their own spare time and post on the internet for free is totally legal, and as far as I know, there aren't any BR tab books out there, so we're a-okay.

If this ever happens, I promise to start an underground old fashioned dial-up BBS. We can post Bad Religion lyrics and tabs along with The_anarchist_cookbook-by_the_Jolly_Roger.txt and kiddy porn.

BR should allow this site to include them... otherwise they'd be just full of s*

i think the government has No Control over what we put up on the net
isn't this sites server based in like sweden anyways? poor lyrics page though, i'd hate to Watch it die. Well most of us who support bad religion have the CD booklets with the lyrics in them, but i like the internet for quick reference. Booklets are fine, but soon, that'll be All there is.
we seriously need to save the lyrics though, i a zip file, like that one dude suggested. Operation Rescue the lyrics! Don't let BR's words go the way of the Dodo!

Pretty sure if you put up one of those "this is purely for educational purpose" labels you wouldn't have a problem. But I really don't know how that works. Just an assumption.

Surely BR.com could just post lyrics, swiped from this site.
Also, we need to remember this is legislation that will probably never have any impact on us. Not having lyrics available online? Bullshit. We'll be fine.
The big concern will be whether or not the United Nations (those fucks) decide to take over control over the internet.

And by the way , what are they trying to protect ? people using the same lyrics ? wow a person using the same lyrics as another band , now that would be something complelty pathethic, and people who use lyrics from other bands (except for covers) to make their "original" songs , well then i must say that person/band must go back to kindergarden and learn how to write their stuff... and its the same things with tabs.. int the end I must say that its pointless "banning"(yeah right, ill give em all i have if they can actualy stop it at 100%) lyrics and tabs because they are not protecting anything, maybe just keeping some wannabees that dont know how to wirte songs or lyrics who just copy other people's shit... oh wow im bored

with that, for just in case purposes, we put all tabs into a zip and let it circulate as br_bookreport.zip or br_pics.zip

eh its not so new news, bbc had an article about this first i beilieve a few days ago.
i really doubt this'll work too, although i could see it working for offline pirates making counterfiet score books, but online tabs? yeah fucking right. If they do get their way, screw em, that's why we have usernet, mailing lists, file sharing, gmail accounts. They're abosolutley retarded if they think people are going to give up a valuable source of learning music.

Don't worry, epitaph is against that bullshit
that's why no CDs released on epitaph are protected by the RIAA. so technically you could illegally download bad religion music (except the atlantic years) with almost 0 chance of being sued.
but why would you want to?
however tabs are different, and we most definately want that shit free

Surely Epitaph would let you keep their ones, as it helps us build a community and understand their songs?
Atlantic might not be so kind.. But that's just an assumption.
