Show information: On December 9th at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles, many L.A. punk bands from the 70's and 80's joined together to provide a benefit show for Flipside magazine. Flipside had been in financial difficulty since their distributor went bankrupt. The show was dubbed the "Class of '77" and was hosted by two members of the early L.A. punk scene, Pleasant Gehman and Hal Negro. In order to get everybody on in the six hours allotted to the bands, there was one drum set and one set of amps used by all bands and then they just plugged in their own guitars and bass. Other bands: Controllers Geza X Minutemen The Dogs The Runaways The Skulls The Crowd Adolescents The Screamers Fear The Circle Jerks T.S.O.L. Agent Orange |
