I would definitely be willing to go to more shows (there were 6 of them within 300 miles' drive of me on this tour) if I knew there would be a different/new song payoff. And hopefully they'll listen to you. Turn on the Light would be badass :) It's definitely on my "ultimate" setlist.
I agree 100% with this. 10/25/2010 at 20:43
Potentially go to more than one show was not likely to do it if they thought they would hear the same songs every time. We can thank Jay for being argumentative and talking the rest of them into switching things up.

I love Do What You Want, but I think I've heard it at every show I've ever seen them play, so I didn't miss it this time. Also, Jay told me afterwards that the fake-out on the opening song wasn't a fake-out; they were confused about what song they were going to play first because they'd been opening with DWYW at almost every show. The reason Potentially go to more than one show was not likely to do it if they thought they would hear the same songs every time. We can thank Jay for being argumentative and talking the rest of them into switching things up. To be fair to Graffin, though, his voice is just holding on by a thread sometimes, and routine helps him be prepared for the shows every night without wrecking his vocal chords. So thanks to him as well for being willing to shake that routine up. the good news for anyone going to tomorrow night's show is: I bet you're going to Hear It again.

nice to see a bit of a change but most of it has been predictable for years, especially the end songs, they do seem to crank out the same set for show after show so much so that by the time I saw them I knew every song they would play which took away some of the fun hehe, hear it though is a big suprise, good choice, I was very disapointed not to hear any new stuff when I saw em bk in August, you guys had a right treat :) how I pined to hear modern man but they've never played it in the 5 times I've seen em :(

Long time listener, noob poster.
I saw them in 2000 at the Roseland in NY, which was a great show. This one however was epic. The energy was really intense throughout, a little less so with the new songs, but Devil in Stitches is hard to sing along to, I tried. Glad I had ear plugs, even standing back by the sound/light guy. "Hear it" really was a highlight. Greg said, "It's been a long time since we've played here, we're going to do some old, some new, and some obscure. This one we haven't played in 10 years" and blasted into it. I was glad I'd spent the week listening to everything, just in case Billy Gnosis popped up again. Agreed, Modern Man and Atomic Garden were very pleasant surprises. I believe Jay was ranting about a sea monster during that part of the song, but I could be wrong. During The Answer Greg said "Gaga's Nasty clothes" instead of Madonna's, which was cool. They all looked like they were having fun, smiling, talking with the crowd. Even Brooks smiled once or twice, although he was moving too fast for anyone to see. Was the Do What you Want/Only Gonna Die fake out in the beginning on purpose? It sounded like they were doing it just to mess with people. When they exposed the cross buster back drop for the encore, I nearly lost it. Then the three finale songs blew the doors off the place. So great to see them, and even better that they still kick so much ass. 10/25/2010 at 12:25

I agree, I had a lot of fun and the set was awesome. I was right up front and could read the set list as they taped it up and on the floor. I was utterly shocked when I saw "Hear It" on there, and very happy!
Also, they had "Recipe For Hate" listed as "Recipe 4 Cake", which I thought that was funny. I was also really happy to hear "Modern Man" and "Atomic Garden". Although, I I regret being stupid and not wearing any earplugs... I was towards the right of the stage, right in front of Hetson, not too far from the speaker. My right ear has some permanent damage and tinnitus now... Also, there was some guy next to me who was being a jerk, he kept throwing paper and stuff at Hetson and screaming that they sucked and that he wanted to hear Stranger Than Fiction. Every time they played a song from the new album he refused to sing or dance and just stood like a rock and frowned. He was really nice before they came on, though, we talked a bit about the band and Greg's solo work... 10/25/2010 at 11:39

To all that attended- please update the setlist! I know I've got the order wrong, and I'm not sure about a couple of the songs either.
Yay to BR for shaking up the setlist, and throwing in a couple of oldies!!! It was fantastic! Thank you! 10/24/2010 at 23:08

Holy science...they played so many randomly old-school stuff at this show. Man was it amazing. I would seriously hang-up the track list somewhere, it was that good.
