thanks so much for your kind words!!
true, it was open air, they even made a remark about it being the first outdoor show on this tour - dont know if thats the case.. show was more than anyone could wish for, even the sound was fantastic.. the dichotomy works so fine live, in a much rougher version, definite highlight of tonight - aside from hearing no control start to finish!! its remarkable that they are still able to perform such old material without losing any of the pace of the old days.. but they proved that with the suffer set last year.. really impressive to perform that a variety in such a short time with so many changes in the band.. and because somebody was asking elsewhere about tour merchandise.. there are a couple of new designs. red shirt with cross buster variation and tourdates on the back, a black one with an abstract skull.. kinda crass looking with all good soldiers in various languages, and one jesus shirt with machinegun, tanks and dragons (had to buy that one ;) one last thing, no fun at all was having a lot of fun and have also aged really well. 05/21/2019 at 15:38

Ah ok good to know - that means you have your chances!!
Did I see that your show in Vienna is an outdoor show?? I did see tho that No Fun at All is opening - lucky you! I love these odd dudes. Grit was a super comeback album. Btw really happy to see old punk rock bands recently coming out with solid albums (I'm thinking 88 Fingers Louie and Pulley). I wish you a good show - I've noticed that sometimes outdoor crowds are different than indoor ones (= some folks go to outside shows just to chill, folks talk more, etc.). If you dont have No Control, at least you could get some rarer songs that come up once in a blue moon; I dont know.. Atheist Peace? Parallel? Tomorrow? I was lucky to hear the Handshake and Dearly Beloved last year... but in return I also got to hear Man with a Mission and Streets of America...!! 05/21/2019 at 03:55

thanks!
i am super stoked to hear the dichotomy and also looking forward to them and us.. but no control in its entirety would have been a blessing.. keeping my fingers crossed that the rain will stop ;) but no, they did not play the complete suffer set on every Show, some were announced as 30 years suffer and some not (they still played a couple of unusual suffer songs during the whole tour) 05/21/2019 at 02:12

No Control is my favorite but looking at the age of the crowd in Lisbon, Id say those were folks that grew up with Stranger than fiction (which is often the case). But the crowd was awesome and many knew the lyrics.
True that only a few new songs were played but as far as I can remember Ive never heard more than half of a new albums songs after a release. The Dichotomy didnt really fit in the show; but good to put it as an intro-ish to Recipe for Hate. Lose your Head also, surprinsingly, wasnt a perfect fit- especially between Sinister Rouge and Atomic Garden. The other 3 were super and you could see they had practised them a lot. Dont get me wrong the show was great - hearing Flat Earth Society, Social Suicide and Supersonic is always good! Just that I was surprised (sad?) not to hear the whole No Control - I mean they played entire Suffer during their whole tour last year (non festivals), right? True they had a huge Suffer banner last year when they came to play it as encore... but no No Control banner this year!! Fingers crossed for you! 05/20/2019 at 17:19

i guess the second reason might be true.. even if no control has always been considered a fan favorite, i can imagine it doesnt play to well to a new audience - too fast - too little variety.. got my fingers crossed for tomorrow but dont expect it to happen :(
another thing that bugs me is how little new material is on the current set.. profane and tkaar got played once or twice? chaos, sanity, paranoid .. lose your head if you are lucky.. 05/20/2019 at 13:24

I was sure they were going to play the whole album since they had done so in the 3 or so previous non-festival shows.... my guess is perhaps they hadnt been to Lisbon for so long that they wanted to play a classic set. The other possibility is that they noticed the crowd didnt know No Control that much (besides the 3-5 songs generally known) and decided to drop the idea. I hope theyll play it again; this was a reason for old fans like me to get into their concerts again - was getting sick of hearing the same 30-40 songs every year - and was already stoked for Against the Grain and Generator sets!
