Backround vocals on recordings:
Background vocals when playing live:
According to Jay (June 2010): "Brett sings the highest notes, and Brian replicates them live. However, historically, I believe the "highest" vocal may be a tie between Gore Verbinski's 'have more than the other guy' in Anxiety, and my scream in Get Off... ohhh and Gore's high 'Entropy'... that one might win."
Jay (April 2020): "I have this habit of standing on my toes to sing high parts, as if somehow being higher up will raise the pitch of my voice. I know that's illogical, but it's one of my dumb quirks. One day I should really learn how to sing (maybe take a lesson). I asked Greg once what would help me and he said, “Just think of something else, don't over focus." Maybe standing on my toes forces me to think about not falling on my face, which i've done many, many times."[1]
According to the Tested liner notes, the only time you could hear Greg Hetson in a live microphone was American Jesus during, "One Nation, Under God."
