Generator was written during the lead-up to the Gulf War, and they were actually in the studio when the bombs started dropping on Baghdad. They received the news from Tim Yohanon, of Maximum Rock' n' Roll. BR were as appalled as he was, so when Tim asked if they had anything he could release on a projected protest EP, they immediately recorded two songs: Fertile Crescent and Heaven Is Falling. Obviously this ended up being the famous "New World Order: War #1" split 7-inch with Noam Chomsky. Brett: "it was pornographic! The whole county was treating the war like it was a fucking baseball match! I was so appalled I considered moving out of the country".
