Greg G.: "If you want to hold to your religious beliefs, your traditional religious beliefs in this modern world, it's almost sad. It's almost sad to see someone who is so devout that they're just unwilling to listen to science, they're unwilling to hear the accepted beliefs of people who have kept pace with scientific discovery, and they're just sort of ending up in a radical corner of which we don't know how they're gonna break out of it. That song has a real sadness about it. I guess that I have empathy for the lost pilgrim.
(...) I'm a little bit too malleable, too plastic to be a pilgrim. Any scientist has to accept that the structure of their reality could change with a new discovery. And so, I have to be flexible in my beliefs. The foundation could change at any moment with a new discovery."
