Overview
The Anthrax, located at 25 Perry Ave in Norwalk, Connecticut, is considered a historic punk rock venue in the United States. It ceased operation in 1990.
History
The original incarnation of The Anthrax opened in the early 1980's as a club in the basement of an art gallery in the west side of Stamford, Connecticut. It was reopened in 1986 at its now famous location on Perry Avenue in Norwalk. It closed in December of 1990 when it lost a zoning dispute with a nearby apartment complex. National acts that played The Anthrax include: Black Flag, Dag Nasty, 7 Seconds, Government Issue, and the Descendents.
Bad Religion Shows
Bad Religion played The Anthrax on three occasions:
On December 19, 1986, the 1986 East Coast Tour visited The Anthrax.
On September 16, 1988, the "Suffer" North American tour played The Anthrax.
On June 28, 1990, the "No Control" North American tour included The Anthrax.
