Wrong Way Kids is about "growing up in the early LA punk scene".[1] Greg Graffin: "(This song) is kind of sentimental about how we understand how groups of punk rockers feel that they are in that group of “wrong way kids” and we were there too."
The initial idea was to have fans submit old photographs to use in the video. For this purpose, a special website was set up.[2] In the end, however, none of these photos were used and the video instead contains old material taken from live shows, interviews etc.[3] The video was released around six months later by Epitaph on April 11, 2011.[4] It was directed by Nicole Vaskell.
