A late report from the San Diego show (Monday).

Looks like a very similar setlist from the Hollywood show (just from reading the review), except they swapped God Song for DREAM OF UNITY. It was very cool. The whole show was really great. The crowd, however, was not. I found myself walking out after the show ashamed to share the same taste in music as a lot of those in the crowd. My only guess is they have never been to an acoustic show and don't really know how to act. From the obnoxious-turned-borderline violent asshole who got booted after the first song to the girl who jumped on stage to grab a setlist, knocking over a crate of Chris' equipment (and nearly his banjo), it was a pretty rude crowd. There was no backstage, but when the show was over Greg was out and in his car before anyone had a chance to talk to him (which is a shame). Fortunately Greg and his band had fun and many around me were very much into the show. Greg likened the venue to his living room and referred to the guy that got kicked out as his crazy uncle.
I'm really glad I was able to see Greg solo and I hope this year isn't just a one-off thing but a second start of more folk music.
