Just stumbled upon this page searching for "crackling noise on bad religion sorrow". It almost ruins the song... can't believe someone would put that on intentionally. It sounds more like a crackly knob on a guitar/amp than an explosion!!
Otherwise, it's possibly their best sounding record (the ones immediately before/after sounding pretty muddy in comparison).

Yeah not to be a downer but im totally with BRP on the explosions... I think they're totally unnecessary and they annoy the hell out of me!

The first time I heard Sorrow I wasn't sure they were explosions either, but after that I thought it was fairly obvious. They fit real well with the song IMO.

Sorrow's explosions always sounded like explosions to me. If you want to hear them louder... well there's a volume switch for that I guess. And they sound very nice! Its like they sing "there will be sorrow no more" despite a storm of explosions.

I posted about it now just because it's an interesting story (I thought) and I hadn't thought about it in a while.
And it coincides with other personal memories that really don't matter to anyone else but me.

on a more interesting note, i just bought the new album and it rocks! although im a little dissapointed that i listened to the 30 second demos on amazon and some of the full songs because there wasnt much of a suprise while listening to it, but i gotta say its one of their best yet.

HOLY SHIT. i always heard that noise he's talking about in Sorrow, and I just thought it was distorted. It has always pissed me off. If that's supposed to be an explosion they should have made it louder and cleaner.
