Well, as I said, Klaus, Ray, and D.H. also made the DKs, the DKs. However, my point still stands: without Jello, there would be no Dead Kennedys, or atleast a good Dead Kennedys.

You guys really think the singer is what makes the DK's unique? Yes, Jello is enigmatic, but East Bay Ray's guitars are what set that band apart for me. The fact that Jello continued to make records is a testament to his ability to align himself with great musicians, not necessarily an indicator that he was the main talent in the DK's.

Though, I do admit that I think that Jello's being a dick about all of this. But, that still doesn't leave out the rest of the band.

Why can't they just agree that they're all being dicks and get back to playing together again?

The DKs without Jello is about the same as Kool-Aid without the powder; Plain water that no one wants. Jello's vocals made that band so different and great, this new guy just can't do it. For the others to run around with the DK name when they play mainly Jello songs and sound like ass is just wrong. The other bands look good though

Well, I'm not saying that the other guys did nothing, but I am saying that Jello created most of the content for the DKs.

And, an independant jury agreeing proves nothing. If it was really the WHOLE band creating the content, then where's the new stuff from the rest of the band? I think that's the big issue at hand, because without Jello, there's no DKs.

The point stands that Jello Biafra recorded great albums post DK - from LARD to the Mojo Nixon collaboration to The Melvins and back. Jello Biafra with D.O.A.'s "Last Scream Of The Missing Neighbors" stands up there with the best Dead Kennedys albums in my humble opinion. Did the other guys do anything of similar impact?

Oh, and I don't want to hear "Holiday In Cambodia" in a Levi's commercial anytime soon.

WLWHWT is for sure Social D's best album, its great!

Sex Pistols, The Misfits and Dead Kennedys anno 2008, how hot is that... Not at all.

I think 'WLWHWT' is SD's best album, but that's because it strays (naturally, I think) from the costume party that is their other records. I like 'Prison Bound' and Johnny Cash too, but this guy makes it as much of a cartoon as the Horrorpops or the Reverend. Sooooo stupid.
And props to Banjo on the Jello take; that guy lied and cheated his friends and now bitches about it while the rest of the band proves with legal certainty that he did it. If it was ANYBODY besides Jello, nobody would support someone with that much evidence stacked against him.

I totally hate these Bettie Page clones at SD shows with their retarded pseudo 50ies hairdos - and above all I fucking hate tattoos, especially on women. That whole scene and style is much too phony, pretentious, uniform and cheap for my tastes.

Nevertheless I really like Social D's blend of punk, rock'n'roll, blues and country. Their music is not very rebellious and aggressive nowadays, but it's introspective and mature and I like it that way. Maybe because I'm relatively old myself (35). "Sex, Love and Rock'n Roll" was my personal album of the year 2004. To each his own I guess.

If I want aggressive and challenging music, I listen to Devin Townsend, Meshuggah or Opeth (yup, I'm a metal guy, too).

I don't particularly like Jello, I've always sided with the other guys as no matter what Jello says, DK have been able to provide proof countering this, documents signed by Jello, etc.

I'd rather see the new DK than Jello and the Melvins.

Old enough to have seen Dannell play, and old enough to know that waiting 8 years for Mike Ness to come up with something as lame as 'Sex, Love & Rock n' Roll' is fucking retarded. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad all the faux Bettie Pages can show up at the HOB every 3 weeks and see 7 straight SD shows, but damn damn damn that band is the antithesis of interesting now.
