I apoligise if expressed my opionions in a bad way, but the thing is, I know people that talks to Brett from time to time and told me about the song already back in '99. I have said this 3 times, still no one seems to believe me, and if you don't go and read the booklet... but you don't! I just quoted the booklet... And even if you're not into BR that much, you can HEAR that Believe it is a brett song... It doesn't get more Brett than that.

Paul: Mr. Brett DID write believe it. The booklet says "all tracks written by Greg except Believe it, written by greg and brett"... RTF booklet! This is the funniest part:
"All that you can tell from the booklets is who wrote the lyrics from the song!
I guess that's why they are recorded in different studios! (Brett on westbeach, Greg on Polypterus). What the ---- makes you think that "written by" is the same as "lyrics by"? write a song doesn't mean that you make a poem, it means that you compose a song. Jesus. I'm leaving this page!

This all comes down to defining what you mean by "writing a song." All that you can tell from the booklets is who wrote the lyrics from the song, therefore any of them could have written the music, which I believe is a big part of any song. If writing songs is just lyrics, then sure, Greg and Mr. Brett have only written a few songs together.
On another note: Greg Graffin said that in the early times of the Bad Religion that they all just went out to the garage and started playing music.
And Bad Brett: If you read in the leaflet it says something along the lines of "Special thanks to Mr. Brett Gurewitz the Lead Guitarist in 'Believe It'." He didn't write the whole song.
If anyone finds anything wrong with this, feel free to correct me.

Nick: That's not entirely correct. Read about Part III in the answer for example. The whole band wrote togther... I think the all ages booklet says that Brett and Greg wrote "Suffer" together and I know that they wrote some other songs on the album together as well. Streetkid named desire is a kind of biography of Greg's life, no Brett there (he wrote Believe it). Look up these things next time please, so we can avoid these silly conversations about who wrote who. What I'm writing is the basic facts that most of you already should know if you have read the booklets on all the albums!

Yeah, pilatus is right MTV just said they wrote a few songs. Not they wrote a few songs together on this CD. BR has said in many interviews they don't write together except the songs American Jesus, Streetkid Named Desire, and one other old song. They write competition style and try to out do one another in song writing. By the way, leave AFI fans out of it. No reason to pick on them.

"are you joking? brett and graffin never wrote songs together before tpob?.. i think you`d make a better afi fan"
Do some research before you write.
1. They wrote most songs each on TBOB (if not all!!!), the only difference was that they chose to NOT write it down in the booklet. Jay wrote down the songwriters on the official board some time ago.
2. They have many songs on the first album and on suffer that they wrote together, and like someone said "american jesus" (if you own the record you should know this)

the interesting thing is that it says that greg and brett have each written a few songs. Does that mean that they haven't been writing together

that is hardly "news". we already knew they were releasing an album, and its pretty obvious that Greg and Brett wrote the songs.
