Overall the show was really good in my opinion. From First to Last sucked, yet there was a somewhat large fanbase which primarily consisted of obnoxious screaming girls at the front of the stage. Once they were gone, everyone was relieved, and it was on to Rise Against.
They were awesome, and they had the whole place rocking by the end of their first song. They promised they'd be back as well, sometime in February, and left with the whole venue chanting their name. Then there was a break, and the lights turned off, and it started out with a prerecorded overture which completely slammed the audince back when they went into Sinister Rouge. From the set list I knew what they were gonna play pretty much, but I was surprised to see Stranger than Fiction show up, but it was a very pleasent surprise mind you. Baker and Jay were in rare form, and drunk off their asses. During every water break they went and took a huge swig out of a wine bottle sitting on stage. Baker seemed kind of half asleep, while Bentley was really animated. During some breaks, Greg remarked about how the theater roof was leaking and said something about getting electrecuted. Then he said something along the lines of "So the roof is dripping... and so are the woman" to which brooks, brian, and jay started playing one of those really cheesy porno tunes. Greg apologized, adding "I'm sorry, I'm such a pig!" Jay also slipped and fell during the middle of one of his songs, which I attribute to his drunkeness combined with the leaky roof. He even commented about it, saying something like "I'm so drunk, I just completely fell on my ass"
to which Baker responded "Yeah, and the whole eye patch thing isn't working either" and added a "YAARGH" pirate sound. Greg also mentioned that this will be the best show on the tour because during the next two, they will be all nervous because they are shooting footage from the dvd. During one of the earlier breaks, Greg said he smelled something like a radiator burning, and Jay attributed it to people smoking marijuana. Greg said he wouldn't know because he doesn't use the stuff to which Jay responded "I don't know, earlier I saw you toking a bong" (or something like that) Someone shouted for them to play suffer (this was after they already played it) and jay shouted back "Are you fucking high or something?! We just played suffer!! I know that and I'm completely wasted!"
What else... oh, there was no Brett there which kinda dissapointed me.
Tim, I think his name was from Rise Against did the Sage Francis vocals. If there was any dissapointment from my end, it was that the instruments were a little too loud because I had some difficulty hearing Greg sing, and the backround vocals were pretty much impossible to hear. But that might be because I was right at the barricade, next to Baker's amp. Anyway, it was an awesome show, and the band was really animated, looked like they just were there to have fun.
