The crowd started chanting "USA" during Rise Against's set. I'm not making this up.
I seriously LOL'd. Nice write up :)
It was really something to behold. I liked how it was chanted after Tim mentioned something about the organization of Iraq Veterans AGAINST the War. I don't think the 16 year olds got it.
Yea, I was in the middle of those kids and I couldn't believe it. Tim looked a little perplexed, too. Then on the way out of the venue kids were stopping to tell the vets what a good job they do and how thankful we are for them being over there! AGH!They have TOO MANY lights!! I'm already leaving the show with some hearing loss, do I have to be blinded as well?! Damn kids and their laser light shows. GET OFF MY LAWN!That wasn't Tim as Hagar, I'm pretty sure it was the bald guitar player(don't know his name). Tim is a Rock Star and can't be bothered with the opening band's performance.I'll never go to a RA show again. The crowd was full of idiots. I almost got into 3 fights without any instigation on my part - luckily I diffused all of those disputes, but what a pain in my ass. I was half a second away from punching someone, and I am not a violent person.Bad Religion was amazing, as usual.
This was an awesome post. I'm married to carbon rod, and the guy who kept touching us was so annoying. And the best was when this teenager - who was so polite! - asked someone if they were saving this empty seat. They said yes. This kid had to stand next to us - on crutches - all night long. What the hell? Real nice.
At least we had that kid and his girlfriend next to us - which kept us from some of the asses that came up there during the RA show. At one point we had two people that stood next to us dripping in sweat. And they reeked of weed. Then a gaggle of boys came up dripping in sweat with their shirts off. But in all, I liked the concert. I teach high school - so I am used to teenagers being idiots from time to time. 05/16/2011 at 15:03
AGH!They have TOO MANY lights!! I'm already leaving the show with some hearing loss, do I have to be blinded as well?! Damn kids and their laser light shows. GET OFF MY LAWN!
haha, yeah...I almost said, "I think Rise Against spent all their major label bucks on lights," but I was trying to avoid overt cattiness since I thought they put on a pretty decent show.
The crowd was full of idiots. I almost got into 3 fights without any instigation on my part - luckily I diffused all of those disputes, but what a pain in my ass.
We were up in the g.d. balcony and I had to repeatedly ask some meathead to first step away from my wife and then step away from me. And this was during an intermission. Go to the show and have a good time, but stop touching me when I'm in the back row of the balcony.
While I'm bitching, I may as well add that I kinda wanted to throw up when the crowd was compared to the previous evening's crowd and then asked how loudly we could sing. I mean, I expect that kind of stuff at a KISS show. Which is why I'd never go to a KISS show. Still, rockstar trappings & fanbase aside, I don't have anything negative to say about RA's set. Yes, I would've rather seen BR play a full set and all that stuff that's more or less been discussed ad absurdium, but if you enjoy RA's music even a little, which I do, they put on a solid show. 05/16/2011 at 14:34

Misc. Notes I wrote down:
--4 Year Strong too loud for me because I'm too old. But they're not dicks. --"We're going to play some songs from the 20th Century." --"The magic of the sausage." --Tim from RA, disguised I guess as Sammy Hagar in a Patrick Kane t-shirt, came out for the rap part of LTEW. Then he spilled something on/around Jay. --Generator had slow beginning and finished in a glorious mess of awesome. --Seemed to be some setlist- or time-related confusion towards the end. A couple band pow-wows. --Rise Against has a whole lot of lights. --The crowd started chanting "USA" during Rise Against's set. I'm not making this up. 05/15/2011 at 09:52
