Broken was the first single from The Process Of Belief.

Inspiration

Broken was inspired by Brett's experience after he was arrested on possession rap; he avoided a six-month sentence by agreeing to spend a year in a residential treatment center, where he got clean. Brett: "That song is a direct result of my experience of coming back, getting back on my feet this time. I was accused by a loved one of being ‘broken.’ I guess the point of the song is really that our flaws are what make us human. They don’t detract from our humanity."^[1]

Video

"Broken is the second video from "The Process Of Belief" CD. Although released month's later, it was shot on the same day and at the same location (a giant sound stage in Culver City Ca.) and with the same crew (mindfield and co.) as the Sorrow video. (...) We shot two consecutive videos in one day! It was a true test of endurance for band and crew alike as the shoot dragged on into the wee hours of the morning. Props go to our director Boo! for his simple but clever concept."^[2]
