I am so jealous of this setlist. I personally haven't been excited (even if I'm not going to a show soon) by a setlist since the New Maps of Hell tour.
I'm glad they mixed things up a bit, I just wasn't enthralled with the particular songs they chose. I'm admittedly in the minority in that Suffer isn't among my favorite albums — so Delirium of Disorder, Pessimistic Lines, and Best For You didn't do a whole lot for me. (And, side tangent, I think Do What You Want is probably the most overplayed song in their catalog.)
The "new" songs they played (from the last 2-3 albums) weren't among my favorites either. I was thrilled to get The Defense, Skyscraper, and Portrait of Authority in there, though. I know I'll never come anywhere close to getting my dream setlist, but if I were setlist dictator I would have cut over half the songs from this setlist and replaced them with: No Control: Progress, Anxiety Against the Grain: Modern Man, Entropy, Walk Away Generator: The Answer Recipe for Hate: Don't Pray on Me Stranger Than Fiction: Leave Mine to Me, The Handshake, What It Is The Gray Race: Parallel No Substance: Strange Denial The Empire Strikes First: All There Is New Maps of Hell: Lost Pilgrim, Honest Goodbye, New Dark Ages The Dissent of Man: Ad Hominem 09/28/2023 at 19:59

I am so jealous of this setlist. I personally haven't been excited (even if I'm not going to a show soon) by a setlist since the New Maps of Hell tour.
Post-Covid shows haven't been bad, but the band was on auto-pilot singing their most-played songs. The one in Victo this summer had 1 maybe 2 'surprises' (and I'm counting Punk Rock Song in this). 2019 shows started ok but at the end they were starting to get a bit redundant (e.g. dropping great songs from AOU and keeping My Sanity or End of History, picking Cyanide for DOM's and keeping the same 20 songs - including Streets of America - from shows to shows). It was time for a fresh-ish start and I do hope most of these songs will still be on the setlist in a few months from now (I'm a bit afraid some will be dropped and get replaced by 'classics'). 09/28/2023 at 14:04

Actually, I take back the comment that the set list was shorter than usual. I realize now that ~25 songs have been the norm for the past several years. I remembered them averaging closer to 30 songs, but you have to go back about 10 years for that to be the norm. Really enjoyed The Defense as the opener.

It was a little evident that this was the first show of the tour. Greg messed up the lyrics a bit on both The Defense and Dearly Beloved. The set list was shorter than a typical Bad Religion show, and the sparse coverage of Stranger Than Fiction through The Dissent of Man was a little disappointing. Jay was as kind and friendly as always — had a nice chat with him before the show.
