Overview
After the commercial failure of Into the Unknown, Greg G. was at college in Wisconsin, Jay had quit the band, and Brett quit Bad Religion to start other bands. Elements of Colour consisted of Lucky Lehrer, Jay, Brett, and Duncan Scrymgeour on vocals. Unfortunately, the band lasted for only one gig, a drug party at Lucky's pad. [1] Brett quit shortly after as he was arrested and jailed. The project then fell apart. [2]
They recorded a few songs, of which one was called "The Young Lions".
Jay: "After Into The Unknown, Brett was writing songs that were a cloud of Kurt Vonnegut meets Kraftwerk. We had a drum machine and a name, 'Elements of Colour'... with a 'u.'
Most of the time we sat around Brett's and smoked Lucky Strikes, but eventually Brett locked down some studio time in Hollywood. Frank Agnew came up and played, Allen Stiritz [of Wasted Youth] may have been there. I don't remember being there because, I don’t know why. Maybe I was there but I was super high. Lost memory. I remember the Ms Pac-man though, so maybe I was there."[3]
