After almost 5 years (!) the punk documetary One Nine Nine Four can finally be watched online. We first reported about this documentary in 2007. Two years later, in 2009, the documetary was almost fully completed but due to a low budget the maker of the documentary couldn't clear the music. In December of that year he asked for help from the online community to raise money. Even though a couple of songs hadn't been cleared, a director's cut of the documentary was screened at the Calgary International Film Festival on September 29th, 2009. In February 2010 over $15,000 was raised and according to the official website (which is down nowadays) they aimed for a '3rd quarter of 2010 release'. After that announcement it remained silent.
And now, 3 years later, One Nine Nine Four can finally be watched right here:
Extra tidbit: Talking about punk rock and skateboarding...Thrasher Magazine has been mentioned in this documentary. Ever read the interview with Bad Religion in Thrasher Magazine? Check it out here!

Jai Al-Attas (writer & director) actually kept in decent email contact with everyone who donated via kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jaialattas/one-nine-nine-four-90s-punk-rock-documentary).
Kindof surprised it took this long for someone to post it online, Jai emailed everyone who donated $50 or more on September 25th, 2011 with a download link for it. I thought about posting it online then but decided to respect Jai's wishes and not share the file.
The original source he provided was interlaced (yuck), and the version posted on YouTube is the same. It is a decent documentary, I guess I just felt like it should have accomplished more. I assume at this point the actual DVD will never see the light of day. I wonder what happens when I donate to a Kickstarter project and don't receive all of the listed perks? :)

I liked it, as I said in the thread on it: the soundtrack and some of the pictures/footage alone are worth it. It was like I was 13 all over again

Rad documentary. They gave credit where it was due. Really wish they would have ended with a different band, though. Bad Religion!

Well that was pretty good. That's about the way I remember things. If someone wanted to learn more about punk (or at least the major punk bands) of the 90s, this movie would be a pretty good way to get them up to speed.
By the way, I like how you felt the need to add "from Bad Religion" to the blurb on the front page. lol
