During their canadian tour Bad Religion were coming again to Quebec city. While their never came during their early career they are stopping often during the last years. I was an occassion I couldn't miss. They were playing in a little theater called l'impérial. The room is quite small compared with their previous shows, only about 1000 people fit in there. It was sold out. At the entrance there was Greg Hetson with a couple of guys talking. He also came right after the show to talk with the fans. I'm quite impressed with his openess.
The Bronx played for the first part. It was good. The style is quite different from Bad Religion but they had some good songs. Then came Bad Religion. Jay had a nice Pope shirt. about which he made some comment later, I think before they played Come Join Us... The setlist was very similarto the Montreal one. They played God's love in Montreal while in Quebec they played Fuck Armageddon this is hell... Is the only difference I can see. If I'm mistaken feel free to point it out, thanks.

The show was great and the guys in amazing shape. From all the show I went I think it's the one where they seemed to have the most fun. I'll try to recall some of the talking they did during the songs... First time greg mention that they had a free day between Montreal and Quebec so they had a nice time in the city. Later he said they were going to Moncton the next day and that they had no idea were it is. At the very beginning someone threw a shirt on the scene, it was a shirt of the Montreal Canadians. Greg showed it and asked who's the player at the back (it was Streit). Then he asked Hetson about the team that was in Quebec, he remembered that they are in Colorado now... There was also some political talk also, before requiem for dissent I think. Greg pooled the crowd to see for who they will vote at the next canadian election. It seems that the green party was the most popular, but he didn't mention the independantist party (Bloc Quebecois) who I think might have received more votes. There was a long presentation of Come Join Us during which Greg was talking about religious group always welcoming people in their groups. At the end he mentionned that in fact financial groups too are this way... Finally the was the introduction to Flat earth society during which he said enough politics, anyway we are between ourselves, we are the flat earth society (anyway something around thos lines, I have quite a bad memory)
About the music, the sound was quite good. Better than most of the shows I attended before. The voice was a little too high, maybe that's why Greg was played with some board often during the show or maybe it's just the problem of being at the front. All the songs were amazing, maybe I can point out Requiem for dissent which is very nice with the crowd shouting requiem. Epiphany was very nice too. He got Fuck Armageddon this is hell quite badly. I think he got mixed up with the lyrics. Greg Graffin made Greg Hetson sing a little during Honest Goodbye (might be another one). Sadly we didn't hear much. I loved the acoustic set. I hope they will never remove it from the shows. They were having quite a lot of fun and they obliviously like doing it especially Brian.
That's about it for the show. If anyone was there also and read this I hope you can some stuff or complete my impression of the night. Thanks!

From what I recall it was American Jesus. A Canadian Jesus version would be funny.

You're quite lucky...
Fuck Armageddon is my favorite song and they didn't play it but they played it in Quebec city...
But that's the only "negative" point about their show!

The board at the side of the stage that Graffin would have been tinkering with would be adjustments to the band's in-ear monitor system (unless I am mistaken). This system wasn't working at all in Ottawa but didn't seem to affect as much as they thought because they still sounded great.
Under 1000 is nice, but the show in Ottawa was held at a venue that only legally holds 450 and it was pretty packed. Now that was intimate! The Thunder Bay show was also intimate in number (only about 500 people) but unfortunately was held in much too large a venue (holds 1500 when full). That same crowd in a different venue would have been an amazing vibe.

Another difference is that they played the fast intro of generator. Greg mixed up the lyrics of won't somebody, but that's no big deal. Is was a very nice show, more intimate than others I went to, wich is really nice. well its only 1000 people...
