San Diego News Network recently interviewed Jay Bentley. In this interview Jay talks about the band's 30th anniversary and how they managed to move on in times they almost wanted to give up:
"Sometimes, you just don’t know what the hell you’re doing. And there were times when it wasn’t fun. There were times when we were close to that point of calling it a day, but we always gave it one last effort when it got like that because we believed in it so much.”
Also, according to Jay the new live album, which will be recorded during the 30th Anniversary House of Blues Tour, is planned to be released for free in May:
“It all really started with these House of Blues shows, [..] We were thinking about how we wanted to document it. And it doesn’t take much to plug in and record it. That turned into ‘we’ll record it, mix it down, and give it away.’ Plus, we’ll be doing sets that go from the very beginning of our career all the way through to the current record. We’ll pick the best stuff from each night and put it all together. It should be ready in May and one way we can say ‘thank you.’”
Of course everyone wants to know if the band is going to make a 40th anniversary. Jay answered:
“I have no idea if we’ll make our 40th, [..] We just go day by day at this point. The ongoing joke is that we’ve been saying ‘five more years’ for twenty years. But right now everyone is excited and happy, so who knows?”

Extra tidbit - For those who haven't seen the setlists of March 17 & 18, the following 'rarely played' songs have been played: Marked (very first time), Germs of Perfection (first time as well), How Much Is Enough?, Materialist, Pessimistic Lines, an electric version of Won't Somebody and a new song called Resist Stance.
I'm sure it's quite likely that we will hear several of those songs on that new live record. It's just a matter of patience. :)
I want it all and I want it now! :P
I'm incurable but durable, it's easy to see
Lack of restraint is a complaint of those around me
I know that others postpone
Gratification, well I lack that affectation
