We all know that Greg Hetson has had his own label since 1997: Porterhouse records. But it appears that since 2005 he also has his own studio (together with Steve Kravac and Josh Achziger) called Gourmet Sound. However, only recently other bands and artists can also use their studio. This is what the site says:
"Gourmet Goes Public! Our little baby has grown up, Gourmet Sound the project studio created by punk legend Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) and producer Steve Kravac (MXPX, Less Than Jake, Pepper) has gone public. After using the studio since 2005 as a private facility, 2009 marks the debut of a new option for bands and musicians, one that is affordable and where finished product sounds amazing! Welcome one and all, we look forward to serving you."
According to Greg's recent "tweets" he's producing for several bands right now.
Have a look at their site right here.
William Elliott Whitmore has done a cover of Don't Pray On Me for a so-called "Daytrotter Session". It has not been released on an album or anything, but can be checked out on the Daytrotter website.
He has this to say about it:
"One of my favorite Bad Religion songs, written by Mr. Brett. I accidentally left a verse out of the song because in the liner notes of the tape copy I own of "Recipe for Hate", a verse is missing. My apologies to Brett Gurewitz."
Brett himself responded to the news story on punknews.org:
"As the writer of the song I've got to say that I love Will's version. I wrote it as a folk song and the band electrified it later but hearing Will do it on acoustic with his unreal voice is humbling and inspiring."
William Elliott Whitmore is an artist on Anti records, founded in 1999 as a sister label of Epitaph Records.
Read more about the "Daytrotter sessions" on their site.
Spotify has added tracks by bands including The Offspring, Bad Religion and Rancid to its online catalogue after striking a deal with Epitaph. The deal means that tracks by acts on the ANTI- label including NOFX, Millencolin and The Hives, have also been added.
The first batch of new songs from the label has been made available to listen to on Spotify on May 27. In total, 14,826 new tracks have been added to the service because of the update.
Spotify is a proprietary peer-to-peer streaming music program that allows instant listening to specific tracks or albums with almost no buffering delay.

Last time we reported about Greg Hetson doing some DJing at Kung Pao Kitty in Hollywood. Apparently his weekly appearance is called "Against The Grain". Here are some pics of Greg having fun.
Pics shamefully taken from the Kung Pao Kitty Myspace. Sorry!
With the murder of George Tiller on May 31, a number of blogs have connected the song Operation Rescue to it. For good reasons of course.
Here's a blog that sums it up pretty nicely: http://brendancalling.com/2009/06/01/christian-terrorists-in-kansas/
The blog includes a youtube vid from Randall Terry (founder of the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue) in which he responds to the death of Tiller. For your viewing pleasure, here's that same video. In one word: amazing.
Extra tidbit - Greg Graffin once said (in an interview for Kerrang) that Randall Terry is the person he would most like to talk to (together with Bill Clinton). Read more.
I don't like William Elliott Whitmore's version of Don't Pray on Me. This guy tries to be so cool, but he isn't. I don't believe he forgot a verse. He just wanted to sound old school by saying he had it on tape. Every idiot googles the lyrics before recording it.
He actually did forget a verse. He forgot the third verse that goes : "A bitter debate and a feminine fate Lie in tandem like two precious babes..."
I, for one, liked the cover and thought it was really good.

but really, seeing as to the bible is just a bunch of books written by dead people, it's sort of irrelevant if taken for anything more than an interesting collection of short stories, metaphors, and philosophical anecdotes.
I mean, you're not looking for guidance from The Lord of the Rings, the Book of Mormon, or Dr. Suess stories...

Well there is a bit in the bible that says it's better to have never lived at all than to live and endure suffering. That sounds pro-abortion to me, though.

The bible has a say on everything you've ever wanted to know. It just depends who's interpreting it. :)
