It's been a while since the last collection of (smaller) news items but for your enjoyment here's another one.
Interview with Jay from Russia
With bad Religion playing their first shows ever in Russia in just a few days from now, the St. Peterburg Times did an interview with Jay.
Here's Jay talking about his expectations of Russia:
"I’ve never been (to Russia), I have no idea. Having never been there and getting an opportunity to go to someplace is truly humbling, and I’m really excited to go somewhere that I haven’t been before. This is a place that I’ve been looking forward to getting to for a long time. I’m really excited."

Two more songs for Rock Band
As of July 20 two more Bad Religion songs are available for download for the Rock Band video game. The songs are New Dark Ages and No Control.
Other Bad Religion songs for Rock Band obviously include 21st Century (Digital Boy) and Sorrow.
Are people still playing these games btw?

Video interview with Brooks from Amsterdam
There's not much to tell about this one except that it's an interview, a video, from Amsterdam, the interviewer has an awful Dutch accent, it contains the obvious questions and it's from a few months back. Enjoy.
How come people are still asking Brooks (and the others) about how he joined the band? As if it happened last month instead of 8 years ago.

I'm sorry, but it just seemed like you were one of those generic people who'd say "AW MAN, ROCK BAND IS DESTROYING MUSIC" or "GO LEARN A REAL INSTRUMENT!" From my experience, everyone who had that mentality was a huge douchebag in that area, and that's the initial vibe I was getting. Though, it seems that you took what I had to say a little more to heart than anything. |

Also, I just want to say that I know how to play guitar, drums, and bass. I've been playing them for years, and I'm a huge supporter of Rock Band.
But, you know what? Expanding your mind to new mediums sucks, anyway. Right guys? |

The best way to get someone to learn something is by making it into a game. Although I don't know how Rock Band can teach how to play since it's nothing like a real guitar. |

I have never played any Rock Band in my life and I still don't understand what it is that you have to do in vocals mode but I figure anything off of No Control (think I Want Something More in particular) would be pretty hard to pull off. The same with Turn on the Light or Blenderhead. You have to sing into a special mic or something, I assume. Wow, I feel old. |

So i downloaded the DLC and i have some stuff to say about it. I immediately went to play both song on Bass, Expert. They are extremely difficult in my opinion. I found that the bass was easier on No control though. but i just skipped straight from bass to expert vocals on no control. I am addicted to the vocals and i can't stop. i 100 percent like 3 times out of the 11 times i played it.

I don't know why a bunch of you have a problem with Rock Band. It's a music video game made by people who are passionate about music. Bad Religion being featured on it is a GREAT way for exposure and it offers those a sense of knowing these songs even further. Also, I would love Bad Religion to be on Rock Band 3, as they're making the game able to actually teach people to play guitar.
To sum up, fuck all of those who only have negative things to say about Rock Band. |

Hmm... I'll be hanging out with a friend who has Rock Band tomorrow. I may have to convince her to buy it so I can play No Control. But not New Dark Ages, it's best to introduce people to BR with the older classic BR songs.

70+ bucks w' shipping for the poster.. Didn't see any other stuff for sale than three shirts, and the 3rd shirt was that "same" old white '80-85 cassette' tee. I got a bit bummed out. I was waiting to get a shitload of stuff... |

Well, now I have a reason to dust off Rock Band again. I don't mind kids finding out about Bad Religion through Rock Band, I mean, they have to find out about them somewhere. I do, however, disagree with claiming you're a fan of a band after only hearing one song. But I think if you're going to download a song by any band, you'd probably only do it if you we're already a fan of the band in the first place.

Yeah, but it is DLC which means they have to pay 4 dollars for them, if it was on disk then we would have a problem, lots of rock band fans are mad this week since it is BR and The Stooges so I dont think we will have a problem with these 2 songs.

Cool! Just when I was wondering the other day where I could get that awesome European tour poster I saw uploaded in the Tours&Shows section... Now there's no way I am spending 45 bucks on this so I'm hoping they will be selling it at the shows, like they did with the American tour version, in which case I'd truly appreciate it if some helpful Euro fan would buy one for me. Of course, I'm ready to PayPal in advance.
